Driving Out of Town on Friday Funny Video
Driving out of town
Today, we were out the door by 7:33 AM to hit the road to start our 2 week National Park tour.
Today we were driving straight through to Richfield, Utah. We stopped in Fruita to have lunch and get some energy out. Then we were back on the road again. We ended up making one more stop in Utah at Ghost Rock Rest Area for a quick potty break and looking at the scenery. It was so beautiful yet, we were ready to get back in the car so we could get to our first park.
We arrived in Richfield, the kids got on their bathing suits and went to the hotel pool.
I started warming up our "chicken" mushroom dinner while the kids played. After swimming for awhile, we were ready for dinner, showers and bed.
When the kids were showered and ready for bed, the kids played some Spot It.
Then, I read our newest book, Rush Revere.
It was a really nice day. The kids were well prepared for our 7 hour long drive. They played quietly and didn't argue or beg to stop. The GPS was up so the kids could watch the miles tick by and they could see what time we would arrive so they didn't even ask if we were almost there.

Cairn's First Homecoming Dance
In the backyard with Dad and family We were meeting some of her friends at a nearby school to take pictures. We got there early so we did some of our own creations. The Eiffel Tower No dates, just went all together as friends. The dance was held at the Parker Fieldhouse and the theme was Space. There were probably 150-200 kids there. She had a great time. She has another dance in 2 weeks!
First Field Day
Today was a super hot day so we decided to do Field Day. Actually one doesn't have anything to do with the other but it was the hottest day of the year so far. Field Day had been scheduled for a month. We got to the park at 12 PM for a picnic lunch with the other COVA students (COVA is Cairn's online school). We met up with lots of friends. At 1 PM, they divided the kids into their grade levels which seems odd to me since they don't really hang out with the same aged peers but it makes it easy I suppose. Cairn went with the 4th graders since that is where all here friends were. No one seemed to notice and I didn't care. Skylar went with the kindergartners. The three legged race. Soccer dribbling. Not sure what this was called but they ran with a ball. Sponge race. Frisbee Cairn with her friend, O. Cairn in the 3 legged race. The aftermath - I think she was hot. There were some fountains at the park where w
Happy 9th Birthday Skylar!!
Skylar woke up ready to celebrate. She woke up early enough to have breakfast with everyone, even Dad. She was allowed to open 2 presents in the morning but the others had to wait until evening. I knew she would love this dress so I let her open it in the morning. It only took her 2 minutes to change her dress. Then there was another gift to open. Lego's!! Skylar's birthday ended up being a pretty big dud. She was supposed to have her first horseback riding lesson but it has been raining for days so it was too muddy to go. We ended up staying home for most of the day. But by evening, C and Grandma were there and it was time to celebrate again. She picked to go go Noodles for dinner. We returned home for presents... a horse-opoly game... a new dress - one for her and one for C. The besties! Finally, it was time for cake. I struggled a little with this birthday. It's Skylar's last one as a single digit. She is just g
